Poul Volther, J60 Oak chair, FDB, Denmark, 1950sOak chair designed by Poul Volther in 1955 for Danish manufacturer FDB. Later light grey fabric on the seat. This chair is a very good representation of the high end 1950s Danish and Scandinavian design that took the world by storm in the mid century. Superb and clever design of the backrest with it's attention to details. Volther clearly took inspiration from a fellow dane Finn Juhl when he designed this. It's very reminiscent of Juhl's Egyptian
